The program costs consist of three components:
- the program package fees;
- the accommodation and meal package fees; and
- additional costs.
The program package fee is payable to the United States Studies Centre and the accommodation and meal fee is payable to UCLA Housing via your UCLA account.
1. Program package fees: AU$8,500 (Australian dollars)
Inclusions:
- Tuition for two courses at UCLA, each course is worth four UCLA units
- United States Studies Centre support before, during, and after the program
- Academic credit is guaranteed (Must have elective space in degree)
- Administrative fees
- Health insurance and travel insurance
- Pre-departure session with Sydney Global Mobility
- Risk Management and Emergency Response Plan
- All additional UCLA registration, orientation, and document fees
- On-campus internet
- Access to gym, pool, library, multiple eateries
- UCLA official transcript
- BruinCard
- Cultural activities in LA – Participants can look forward to engaging cultural outings, including last year's highlights such as visiting Disneyland and a Dodgers game, both with transportation provided. While specific activities for this year may vary, the program ensures quality, exciting experiences with travel arrangements included in the cost of the program.
A non-refundable deposit of AU$200 will be payable at the time of application. If offered a placement on the program, a further AU$800 will be payable to accept your placement. The combined amount of AU$1000 is part-payment of the total program fees and the final payment for the remainder is due 13 May 2024.
2. Accommodation and meal package fees
You will need to choose an accommodation and meals package from the UCLA Summer Housing. More information is available on the accommodation page. Please note that the accommodation is subject to availability, but UCLA summer housing will do its best to accommodate your first request.
3. Additional costs
Students are also responsible for the following costs:
- Visa application and lodgment costs. Refer to the US Embassy for details.
- Airfares and transfers.
- Any additional food and entertainment costs.
- Any costs accumulated at UCLA e.g. printing and other miscellaneous items such as potential laboratory costs for certain courses.
