USSC Undergraduate Equity Scholarship in American Studies
Value: $10,000 p.a.
This Scholarship was established to provide financial support to students majoring in American Studies at the University of Sydney who are experiencing financial hardship.
Applicants must demonstrate financial hardship based on one or more of the below:
- identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney’s Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015.
- fixed income or low socio-economic status,
- carer responsibilities,
- long-term medical condition/disability (including ongoing effects of abuse),
- sole-parent responsibilities,
- regional or remote disadvantage,
- refugee status,
- identify as LGBTIQ+, and/or
- are a first-generation university student.

USSC Undergraduate Indigenous Scholarship
Value: $10,000 p.a.
This Scholarship was established to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking AMST and USSC units of study at the University of Sydney.
Applicants must identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney’s Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015.

USSC Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship
Value: $10,000 p.a.
This Scholarship was established to provide financial support to postgraduate students who identify as a woman, non-binary, or gender diverse. Applicants must also be studying USSC postgraduate coursework units in International Relations, Public Policy, or International Security at the University of Sydney.
Applications for the USSC Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship will open in June 2024.
Full terms and conditions will be provided once applications officially open.
American Studies Honours Scholarship
Value: $6,000 p.a. split equally between honours students.
This scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students studying the American Studies honours program at the University of Sydney.
Applicants must be willing to undertake a project or activity related to the advancement of their honours research.
The Scholarship is offered subject to the applicant having an unconditional offer of admission or being currently enrolled in full-time study in one of the following degrees within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney:
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in American Studies, or
- Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Honours) in American Studies
Applications for the American Studies Honours Scholarship will be available again in 2025.
