Biography

Sophie Mayo works on national security policy at Salus Ventures, Australia’s largest national resilience venture capital fund. Sophie is also a non-resident fellow at the United States Studies Centre. In her current capacity and at USSC, Sophie works on Australia–US defence industrial base integration and innovation and AUKUS Pillar II implementation. In early 2024, Sophie was invited to present research on building a multi-sovereign public-private innovation fund for AUKUS Pillar II at the US Naval War College’s Cyber and Innovation Policy Institute in Rhode Island. Sophie is a 2025 General Sir John Monash Foundation scholar and a Pacific Forum Young Leaders program scholar.
