Trump ‘trying to distance himself’ from consequences of Roe v Wade decision

USSC Associate Professor Dr David Smith talks to ABC Drive about the recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling that recognised frozen embryos used in in vitro fertilisation (IVF) as ‘unborn children’. Dr Smith warns that the case “potentially endangers IVF,” because IVF often results in the destruction of surplus embryos.

Speaking on the electoral implications of the decision, Dr Smith views reproductive rights as an issue that can “help [Democrats] win the 2024 election.” Dr Smith says that former president Trump “is trying to distance himself from a lot of the consequences of the Roe v Wade decision…He knows it is not a winning issue.”
