USSC Non-Resident Senior Fellow Bruce Wolpe talks to SBS News about the Democrats response to President Joe Biden's performance in the presidential debate and how the party could move to replace him.
"Ultimately it has to be Biden taking himself out of the race," said Wolpe. His replacement could then be decided at the upcoming Democratic convention.
"It can be done, it would be very complicated ... but we would see then a primary season condensed into about six weeks of active campaigning around the country."
Wolpe noted however that "no prominent democrats have stood up by name ... and said, 'Mr President, it's time for you to step aside.'"
"Even though everyone wants to see a leader who will beat Donald Trump, they're not willing to light the fuse yet."
