A select group of students participated in a teleconference direct from the Democratic National Convention hall. Eric Federing, Director of Press Information Center operations at the Democratic National Convention, offered an insider's explanation of how an American political convention works. Dennis Richardson, AO, Australia's Ambassador to the US, also joined the event as an observer. Participants discussed the history and role of US conventions and posed their questions on the forthcoming conventions.
