The United States Studies Centre held a special screening of Orson Welles' 1941 classic, Citizen Kane, at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington.
Visiting Fellow Stephen Loosley AM (whose expertise combines presidential politics and Hollywood history) hosted an audience discussion following the film, addressing its political themes and the rise of the showbiz president, Donald Trump.
Nominated for nine Academy Awards, Citizen Kane examines the life and legacy of Charles Foster Kane, played by Welles, a character based in part upon the American newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst.
