USSC CEO Dr Michael Green talked to ABC News about the "relentless" advocacy of the families involved in the US-Russia prisoner swap and the contrast of the prisoners returning to Russia and the United States.
"It tells you a lot about Vladimir Putin's Russia that they're celebrating the return of a convicted murderer and assassin," said Dr Green.
"Whereas the hostages getting out of Russia, coming home to the United States, are journalists, democracy activists."
