Director of the centre's Executive Program on US Business Leadership, Professor Bruce McKern, believes that despite current concerns about the United States, the US economy is still the biggest in the world and continues to present attractive opportunities for Australian companies. But as in entering any new market, firms have to balance the opportunities against the risks. To encourage smaller Australian companies to consider expansion into the US market, the US Studies Centre ran its first New Horizons program.
A stellar group of speakers discussed the issues firms need to deal with in operating in the dynamic and competitive US marketplace with a select group of participants from small and medium companies.
One participant noted "the program was excellent value for access to such an impressive group of experts with timely and helpful information on doing business in the US."
