USSC Associate Professor Dr David Smith and former treasurer Joe Hockey were featured on ABC Radio's PM program talking about the state of the race and the polls underestimating support for former president Donald Trump.
"The problem is that a lot of Trump supporters are people who are less politically engaged and who don't really trust media organisations and universities, which are the organisations which conduct polls," said Dr Smith.
"So when pollsters contact people, the people who are more likely to respond are not Trump supporters."
