USSC Associate Professor David Smith was featured in an article in the Sydney Morning Herald about why Americans in Australia are renouncing their US citizenship for tax and personal reasons.
“The US sense of national identity is bound up with who is running the country – and for some people that is harmful emotionally, particularly if that person is at odds with their conception of what it should be,” said Dr Smith.
