USSC Director of Foreign Policy and Defence Professor Peter Dean appears on ABC News to discuss the announcement that Australia will give almost A$5 billion to UK industry to boost nuclear reactor production as part of the AUKUS partnership.
Professor Dean describes the funding as a "critical investment by the Australian Government into a critical Australian capability," while also highlighting workforce concerns: "the investment has to go into training and education to get people with the skill sets that we need to be able to produce these key components of our submarines."
