USSC Academic Director and Senior Lecturer in American Studies Rodney Taveira spoke to SBS News about the way former president Donald Trump is utilising alternative media - notably podcasts and YouTube - to reach new audiences and appear "relatable."
"The demonisation that you might be receiving about Trump from other media sources, he gets to circumvent that," said Dr Taveira.
"He gets to access people he would otherwise not access. And in a way that is largely sympathetic."
