USSC Professor of US Politics and Foreign Relations Brendon O'Connor spoke to Sydney University's The Expert Take about whether the term 'fascist' applies to former president Donald Trump.
"'Fascism' should be reserved for situations of extreme violence," said Professor O'Connor.
"We might at the moment think that Trump is a potential fascist, or he is a would-be fascist, but to say someone is a fascist in action ... relies on a degree of violence that we didn't quite see in the first Trump administration."
