Dr Michael Green, Professor and CEO of the United States Studies Centre spoke to ABC's AM program on the Trump administration's plans sweeping new tariffs and how Australia might be affected.
"If Donald Trump actually tries to go through with 10 to 20 per cent tariffs across the board, the impact will be so inflationary there's going to be major political blowback.
"You can't rule out tariffs on Australia, but I think the Free Trade Agreement and the overall support for Australia in the US Congress are pretty good protection," Dr Green said.
