USSC Research Associate Ava Kalinauskas spoke to ABC Radio's The World Today program about the mood at the Democratic National Convention and the path forward for Kamala Harris.

"So far what we've seen at the DNC is just a display of hope and celebration for the Democrats and I think a level of excitement that was virtually impossible to imagine just a month ago when Biden was still in the race," said Kalinauskas.

"So far Harris has had this dream run ... but it will be really interesting to see if she can keep up this momentum. She's mounting the shortest presidential campaign in modern US electoral history, and so the DNC is really her opportunity to tell voters what she stands for and deliver a vision for her path forward."
