USSC Foreign Policy and Defence Director Professor Peter Dean is featured in an article discussing the recent announcement of the retention of Australia's Hunter-class frigate program but with the ships cut from nine to six.

Professor Dean tells The Australian that "the $20bn blowout in the Hunter-class budget should have spelt the end of a program littered with entrant decision-making based on wishful thinking rather than detailed analysis. My assessment is the government has come to its decision begrudgingly.”
