Robert Kaplan

National Correspondent for The Atlantic Monthly and Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security


Robert Kaplan was a speaker at the US Studies Centre National Summit in June 2011.

Kaplan is National Correspondent for The Atlantic Monthly and a Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security. A best-selling author of twelve books on international affairs, he was the first American writer to warn in the 1980s about a future war in the Balkans in 'Balkan Ghosts'.

Kaplan has been a consultant to the US Army's Special Forces Regiment, the US Air Force and the US Marines. From 2006 to 2008, he was the Class of 1960 Distinguished Visiting Professor in National Security at the United States Naval Academy. He has also lectured at the FBI, the National Security Agency, the Pentagon's Joint Staff, major universities, the CIA and business forums.
