Polly Trottenberg

Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy at the US Department of Transportation


Polly Trottenberg is Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy at the US Department of Transportation. She was previously Executive Director of Building America's Future and worked in the US Senate for 12 years, most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for Barbara Boxer. Trottenberg also served as Legislative Director for New York Senator Charles Schumer and as Legislative Assistant to New York Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Before starting her career on Capitol Hill, Trottenberg worked at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the Massachusetts State Senate, and the Massachusetts Port Authority. She received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College at Columbia University and her Master's in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Polly was a keynote speaker at the US Studies Centre's City of the Future conference.
