Former Press Secretary for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton


Nina was a regular contributor to the US Studies Centre blog in 2009.

Nina has had a 16-year career in politics, campaigns and media relations in the United States and Australia. Nina spent the last seven years working for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, most recently as her New York-based Press Secretary and Spokesperson.

Nina was born and raised in Sydney and moved to New York in 1999. Following her arrival in the US, she spent time with Senator Bill Bradley's presidential campaign before moving to then First Lady Clinton's campaign for the US Senate. Nina also worked as a Democratic media advisor and spokesperson during the 2001 Campaign for Mayor of New York City, before moving to Senator Clinton's office.

Prior to leaving Australia, Nina was the National Campaign Manager for the Australian Republican Movement, working on both the Constitutional Convention Election and Referendum campaigns. Nina has also held a number of roles in Australian politics, providing political, legislative and policy advice on both the State and Federal level.

Nina has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Bachelor and Masters in Political Science from The University of New South Wales.

Nina currently resides in San Francisco with her husband and young daughter.
