Mike Kane

Mike Kane is a member of the US Studies Centre's Council of Advisors. In 2012, he was appointed as Boral's CEO and Managing Director after being President since February 2010. Kane has extensive experience in the building and construction industry, including 24 years in senior executive roles with US Gypsum, Pioneer/Hanson Building Materials, Johns-Manville Corp and Holcim.

His experience spans a broad range of geographies across America, Europe and the Asia Pacific, and his portfolio of responsibilities has included cement, aggregate, concrete, plasterboard, bricks and roof tile businesses.

Prior to joining Boral, he was CEO and Board Member of Calstar Products Inc, a Silicon Valley Clean Technology start-up reinventing exterior building materials for sustainable construction.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Southern Illinois University, a Juris Doctorate from DePaul University’s School of Law in Illinois and a Masters in Science from Creighton University, School of Law in Nebraska.
