
Mike Chinoy
Former Chief Asia Correspondent, CNN
Distinguished American journalist and commentator Mike Chinoy was a guest of the US Studies Centre in October 2008. He was a panellist at a public forum on "The Foreign Policy of Obama and McCain: Which is Australia's Gain?" and also gave a talk on "Global Crisis Points" at the NSW Trade & Investment Centre.
Chinoy is well-known from his reporting as CNN's Senior Asia Correspondent which capped over thirty years of international journalism experience, mainly in Asia. He came to international prominence for his live reporting from Tiananmen Square in 1989.
He is now a Senior Fellow at the Pacific Council on international policy, a Los Angeles based think tank.
Mike is a frequent commentator on Asian affairs and has recently published a book about North Korea: Meltdown: The Inside Story of the North Korean Nuclear Crisis.
