
Meg McDonald
Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Carbon Trust
Meg McDonald was appointed CEO of the Australian Carbon Trust in February 2010. The Trust has been established by the Australian Government as an independent company with over $100 million initial funding to accelerate the move to a sustainable low carbon economy by providing finance and advice to Australian businesses and the wider community. She spent eight years with Alcoa, as President of the Alcoa Foundation and Director Global Issues, as well as General Manager, Corporate Affairs for Alcoa in Australia. McDonald was previously a senior Australian diplomat, with responsibilities including being Australia's lead negotiator for the Kyoto Protocol and Deputy Chief of Mission for Australia in Washington, DC and in Geneva.
Meg was a panellist at the US Studies Centre's City of the Future conference.
