Martijn Konings completed his PhD at York University in Toronto and is currently a lecturer in the department of Political Economy at the University of Sydney. He has published articles on American and global finance in a range of journals and has co-edited (with Leo Panitch) American Empire and the Political Economy of Global Finance (Palgrave, 2009). He is currently completing a book manuscript on the rise of American finance, editing a volume on the financial crisis and starting a new research project on the changing ways in which households are connected to financial institutions.
Martijn currently lectures in US Economics and Politics for the US Studies Centre.
