Adjunct Professor in Climate Change and Energy Security


Howard Bamsey AM was previously Adjunct Professor in Climate Change and Energy Security at the US Studies Centre.

Howard joined the Centre following his retirement as Deputy Secretary of the Australian Government's Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. Perhaps Australia's pre-eminent official on climate change, energy efficiency and energy security, Howard served for several years as Kevin Rudd's special envoy on all international sustainability matters for the Australian Government.

At the Centre Howard was a leading player in the Centre's sustainability activities, bringing new attention to energy security issues and promoting trilateral cooperation among Australia, China and the US on climate, energy and the environment.
