Adjunct Professor in Climate Change and Energy Security
Howard Bamsey AM joined the Centre following his retirement as Deputy Secretary of the Australian Government's Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. Perhaps Australia's pre-eminent official on climate change, energy efficiency and energy security, Howard has served for the past several years as Kevin Rudd's special envoy on all international sustainability matters for the Australian Government.
At the Centre Howard will give guest lectures on sustainability issues to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He will also be a leading player in the Centre's sustainability activities, bringing new attention to energy security issues and promoting trilateral cooperation among Australia, China and the US on climate, energy and the environment.
