Dr Denis Angers

Senior Research Scientist, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada


Denis was a speaker at the Soil Carbon Sequestration Summit co-hosted by the US Studies Centre and the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Sydney in February 2011.

Denis is a Senior Research Scientist with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Quebec City and Adjunct Professor of Soil Science at Laval and McGill Universities. His research has involved soil quality, and C and N cycling, with the overall objective of reducing soil degradation and net greenhouse gas emissions. He is currently a scientific advisor for the national greenhouse gas inventory for agriculture in Canada. He has been a scientific advisor for the OECD and the International Francophonie Organisation. He has been visiting fellow at INRA, France and at the University of Adelaide, and Invited Professor at the Agricultural University of Brittany.

Denis has been editorial advisor for several international journals, and is currently Associate Editor of the Journal of Environmental Quality. He was Section Editor of Soil Sampling and Methods of Analysis and one of the Editors of the Soil and Environmental Science Dictionary. Denis is the President-Elect of the Canadian Society of Soil Science.
