Dr Anna Lebovic

Anna Lebovic is a historian of modern America, with a particular interest in gender, consumer culture and national identity in the postwar period. She also has broad research interests in the history of fashion and the media.

In 2014, she received her PhD from the University of Sydney. Her thesis, entitled America in Vogue: Refashioning National and Transnational Culture, 1945-1980, is the first academic history of America’s pre-eminent fashion magazine in the postwar period. Her research was supported by several awards, including the John Frazer Traveling Scholarship and the Australian Postgraduate Award.

Anna also received her BA (Hons. I) at the University of Sydney, and has taught history to undergraduates at the university.
