This session "The War(s) on Terrorism" features Peter Cosgrove AC MC, former Chief of the Australian Defence Force, Douglas Feith, former United States Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, and Paul McGeough, Senior Foreign Correspondent for The Sydney Morning Herald, moderated by Mark Colvin, presenter of ABC Radio's current affairs program, PM.

This session "Australian and American Perspectives" featured Jeffrey Bleich, United States Ambassador to Australia, and Dennis Richardson AO, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Summit was officially opened by Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sydney Michael Spence.

The "9/11 Decade: How Everything Changed" summit brought together government decision-makers past and present, thought leaders and academic experts from the US, Australia and around the world to take stock of the first epoch of the new millennium, the 9/11 Decade. A cocktail reception was held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales to welcome speakers and special guests to the summit, as well as to launch the Centre's American Review iPad application. James Fallows, National Correspondent for The Atlantic Monthly was a special guest speaker at the event.
